SC pigtail

Fiber optic pigtail is an important component commonly used in fiber optic networks. It has fiber connector at one end, and the other is utilised in terminating fiber optic cables via fusion or mechanical splicing. SC pigtail are ideal for supporting fiber optic applications in high-speed telecommunications networks. Manufactured and tested to meet ICE, ISO, and ROHS industry standards, HTGD is available in OM1, OM2, OM3, OM4, OM5, OS1 and OS2 fiber types, with SC connectors, and in a variety of cable diameters and materials. SC pigtail combines a premium zirconia insert with rugged composite hardware to provide the optical performance, durability and repeatability required for todays networking applications.

Q: Do single mode connectors work on multi-mode cables?

A: True, you can use single mode connectors on multi-mode, but not the other way around.

Q: New installations-What type of multi-mode should I use?

A: OM4 is generally the most recommended multi-mode fiber for all new installations. OMF provides a level of future-proofing as data rates continue to rise.

Q: Why does multi-mode cost more than single mode?

A: It's all about manufacturing costs. The multi-mode fiber has a graded-index core with tight performance requirements that implies more costs, compared to the single mode fiber which has a step-index core.

Packaging

After all tests are completed, the fiber optic jumpers will be packaged according to the customer's requirements. Usually, we will use PE bag to pack the jumper cables of the small meter section, and then put them into a small carton; to ensure the safety, we will use paper spool to pack the large meter section, and finally both of them will be packed in carton again.
