Q: What kind of cable will be used for FTTH?

Q: Will a single mode connector work on multi-mode cable?

A: Maybe you can use SM connectors on MM fibers, but not the other way around. SM connectors are designed with tighter tolerances, just like SM fiber, which means that the ferrule hole may be too small for some MM fibers. MM connectors, on the other hand, have larger holes for the fiber and will result in high loss (>1dB) when used with SM fibers. Additionally, MM connectors may not have a PC (physical contact) polish, which can lead to poor return loss. It's also worth noting that MM fibers may not fit properly into the smaller hole of SM connectors."
